
Adobe Substance Variant Compiler is a 3D content production platform that helps marketing and creative teams turn complex product variants into production-ready visual content. Teams can add 3D assets, assemble scenes, generate variations, and export final imagery from a single workflow—replacing fragmented production processes with a scalable system.
Currently in active development, the app is functioning and being implemented into company workflows as part Adobe's 3D digital twin initiative.

I helped shape the experience around a core challenge: making complex 3D workflows accessible to non-technical users while giving creative teams the control they need to produce content at scale.
The result is a workflow that abstracts away technical complexity, accelerates production, and makes 3D content creation more accessible across marketing, product, and design teams.

The Variant Compiler presented a unique challenge: the underlying technology is inherently complex, but the experience needed to be clear and approachable.
We started by mapping the users, workflows, and decisions involved in compiling product variants. From there, we explored existing tools and industry workflows to identify opportunities to simplify the experience.
Rapid prototyping allowed us to test assumptions early, refine the workflow, and establish an experience that could accommodate both simple product configurations and increasingly complex variant structures.
